    适用范围:INTRODUCTION Erosion is defined in this report as the progressivedisintegration of a solid by cavitation, abrasion, or chemicalaction. This report is concerned with: 1) cavitation erosionresulting from the collapse of vapor bubbles formed by pressurechanges within a high-velocity water flow; 2) abrasion erosion ofconcrete in hydraulic structures caused by water-transported silt,sand, gravel, ice, or debris; and 3) disintegration of the concretein hydraulic structures by chemical attack. Other types of concretedeterioration are outside the scope of this report. Ordinarily, concrete in properly designed, constructed, used,and maintained hydraulic structures will undergo years oferosion-free service. However, for a variety of reasons includinginadequate design or construction, or operational and environmentalchanges, erosion does occur in hydraulic structures. This reportdeals with three major aspects of such concrete erosion: Part 1 discusses the three major causes of concrete erosion inhydraulic structures: cavitation, abrasion, and chemicalattack. Part 2 discusses the options available to the designer and userto control concrete erosion in hydraulic structures. Part 3 discusses the evaluation of erosion problems and providesinformation on repair techniques. Part 3 is not comprehensive, andis intended as a guide for the selection of a repair method andmaterial.

(460 mm) or more in thickness; it is also relevantfor less massive concrete members.

    适用范围:Discussion in this standard is limited to structural grade, lightweight aggregates, and structural lightweight-aggregate concrete. Structural lightweight-aggregate concrete is defined as concrete which: (a) is made with lightweight aggregates conforming to ASTM C 330, (b) has a compressive strength in excess of 2500 psi (17.2 MPa) at 28 days of age when tested in accordance with methods stated in ASTM C 330, and (c) has an equilibrium weight not exceeding 115 lb/ ft3 (1842 kg/m3) as determined by ASTM C 567. Concrete in which a portion of the lightweight aggregate is replaced by normalweight aggregate is within the scope of this standard. When normalweight fine aggregate is used, it should conform to the requirements of ASTM C 33. The use of pozzolanic and chemical admixtures is not covered in this standard. Purpose The purpose of this standard is to provide generally applicable methods for selecting and adjusting mixture proportions for structural lightweight concrete. These methods are also applicable to concrete containing a combination of lightweight and normalweight aggregate.

    适用范围:INTRODUCTION This paper presents the results from an experimental program to investigate the effects of using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) vertical strips epoxied to the webs of precast pretensioned I-girders. Vertical shear strips anchored by horizontal CFRP strips have been used to provide shear strengthening of 100 I-girders in the Champlain Bridge (see Fig. 1). The objective of this research project was to study the beneficial effects of using vertical and horizontal CFRP strips to enhance the performance of bridge I-girders in shear, particularly in light of some experimental results that indicated that I-girders experienced little shear strength gain when CFRP shear strips were added (Belarbi et al. (2011) and Kim et al. (2012)).
